Chrysler Pulling Out of Four Western Wisconsin Dealerships

Posted:

Eau Claire (WQOW) - An Eau Claire dealership is among four in western Wisconsin that Chrysler wants to pull out of soon.

A Chilson Automotive representative has told News 18 that its dealership on Highway 93 is part of the nationwide move to close or revamp hundreds of dealerships.

Jean Chilson says the company's other two dealerships in the area, in Chippewa Falls and Cadott, are safe.  The move was announced by Chrysler in a bankruptcy filing in New York.  The company said it wants to eliminate 789 dealerships across the country by June 9th.

There are 18 Wisconsin dealerships on the list of those expected to lose Chrysler.  The other three in western Wisconsin are:  Quinn Motors of Ellsworth, Larsen Auto Center in Frederic and Johnson Motors in St. Croix Falls.
