Chetek/Weyerhaeuser (WQOW) -- We're one step closer to consolidating two western Wisconsin school districts.
The school boards from Chetek and Weyerhaeuser meet Monday night and passed a resolution to consider consolidating. They now have a choice to make before August 1st: the board can either choose to pass a resolution to consolidate by going to referendum or without a referendum.
If the boards choose not to go to referendum, the public can petition for a referendum by collecting 10% of the districts signatures. If everything goes though, the two districts would consolidate in July of 2010.
