Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Merger talks could have an impact on a number of local John Deere dealers.
Kohel Power Equipment and M.D.M.A Equipment announced the two comapnies are discussing a merger. Together, the dealerships have locations in Mondovi, Durand, Cameron, Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, Granton and Arcadia.
Both companies say details are still being worked out including final merger approval by John Deere. There's no word on whether there would be a name change. For now, the companies say all locations will remain open.
Worldwide, John Deere expects an 8% drop in sales this year, 9% for the second quarter.
