Country Fest Preps Continue Until Event Begins Thursday

Cadott (WQOW) - One of western Wisconsin's biggest events is right around the corner. Country Fest starts this week in Cadott. Organizers are now gearing up for the event, and say this year's event is full of surprises.

The event is a huge four-day concert, that attracts thousands of people from all over the Midwest. Tuesday, organizers are beating the heat to set up.

"We are doing a little bit of everything. We are preparing our reserved seating area, we're getting our kitchens ready for the VIP area, the corporate decks, we're getting all of our signage up, and our vendors are coming to set up," says Kelly Peak, Country Fest marketing director.

The event is a tradition for many people, and this year, fest go-ers may notice a few additions.

"There's a few new things on the grounds this year. We've actually expanded our VIP booth and our VIP seating area, as well as our VIP kitchen. So that holds a lot more people this year. And we've also expanded our souvenir booth. We have a lot more clothing coming in this year," says Peak.

That's not all. ABC Daytime and SOAPnet are new sponsors this year, bringing in about ten different soap stars including: Aiden Turner from All My Children, Rebecca Herbst from General Hospital, Jason Thompson from General Hospital, Chrishell Stause from All My Children and Bree Williamson from One Life to Live. All will be on hand for the entire four-day event.

"They're going to be in their tent all night long and they're going to be signing autographs, having photo opportunities, giving away a bunch of free stuff and that will be happening all day long," says Peak.

The soap stars will be joining thousands of country music fans for this year's lineup.

"We have fantastic artists: Taylor Swift, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley, and of course King George is going to be here, George Strait himself Sunday night," says Peak.

The line-up also includes: Kelly Pickler and Julianne Hough.

Tickets are still available for this year's Country Fest, and can be purchased at the gate. You can buy four-day passes or single-day passes.

Gates will open at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The fest runs through Sunday.
