Postal carrier sentenced for stealing mail to cash check
Holcombe (WQOW) - A postal carrier who stole someone's mail and then cashed a check has been sentenced.
Rhonda Niederhauser from Holcombe was sentenced Monday to 2 years probation. The department of justice says Niederhauser stole a piece of mail while on her route for the Ladysmith Post Office. It happened last summer.
She cashed a check for $1,088 and used it to buy Apple Bottom jeans, car parts and food. Officers say she admitted stealing the check when they confronted her.
