Madison (WQOW) - If you've wondered whether the campaign season ever ends, one phone call could give you the answer.
Congressman Dave Obey isn't up for reelection for another 15 months, but already one group is reaching out to potential voters in his district. The National Republican Congressional Committee is making so-called robo calls. Those calls accuse Obey of being out of touch with what Wisconsin workers are going through.
The call says, "Wisconsin is losing jobs, but yet Obey is focused on spending your money and carrying water for Nancy Pelosi's failed stimulus bill."
Obey is chair of the House Appropriations Committee, and played a major role in writing the stimulus package.
In response to the robo calls, an Obey spokesperson says, "Just another partisan attack at a time when Congress is tackling the economy and other issues."
