Elk Mound (WQOW) - The DNR is needed for a marten transport but this has nothing to do with the business by that name.
A warden had to remove a marten from an Elk Mound neighborhood on Saturday. The animal is called a Fisher. It's a member of the marten family and is similar to a Weasel.
It was seen running around in circles and police say it was also spotted approaching cars. It came up to the squad car twice. They believed it was rabid so they cleared everyone out of the area and a DNR warden was contacted to remove the animal.
