Four men arrested in attempted armed robbery in Chippewa Falls

Chippewa Falls (Press Release) - Four men have been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the City of Chippewa Falls on the evening of Oct. 4.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Sunday officers were dispatched to the 200 block of N. High Street to investigate suspicious activity. A citizen reported seeing three individuals who were masked and wearing dark clothing running in the area.

Officers ultimately met with the victim who is a 21-year-old male who resides in the 200 block of N. Prairie Street.  Victim reported that he heard loud banging on the door of his residence.  Upon exiting his home to investigate, he was confronted by three masked subjects and was struck in the head. Victim reported the three suspects fled on foot.

During this investigation, four suspects were identified and subsequently arrested.

They are as follows: Nicholas A. Schmude, 22, of Boyd; Travis W. Eagen, 21, of Cadott; Shae M. Bailey, 32 of Chippewa Falls and Zachary A. Thiede, 20, of Chippewa Falls.

All four subjects have been arrested for Party to the Crime of Armed Robbery and Party to the Crime of Battery. Schmude and Eagen are also being held on probation holds.
