
Bloomer (WQOW) -- Police release the name of the Bloomer woman killed while trying to cross Highway 40.
Bloomer police say 74-year-old Loretta J. Luer was crossing the highway at Priddy Street Monday afternoon when she was hit by an oncoming car. Luer was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police say Luer, who lived on Priddy Street was not using the crosswalk.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman was Erica Olson of Bloomer. Police say she was headed east-bound on 40 when she struck Luer. The case has been forwarded to the district attorney for possible charges.

Bloomer police say the fatal crash happened early Monday afternoon when she was crossing the highway at Priddy Street. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
