Menomonie (WQOW) - A UW-Stout student has been sentenced for knocking out another student with a punch.
James Coleman Jr. was sentenced Thursday to ten days in jail. He'll also be on probation for one year.
Police say, in September 2008, Coleman admitted punching Michael Fels. Fels was knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital.
Coleman told police he saw his girlfriend kissing Fels at a bar. As Coleman went to leave, Fels followed him out. Police say that's when Coleman punched him in the mouth.
As part of his sentence, Coleman must also write an apology letter to Fels.
