Meteorologist Cyndi Kahlbaum joined WREX in October 2009 and has worked both the morning and weekend shifts during her time at the station.

Cyndi is from Ann Arbor, MI where she was born and raised.   Her love of weather came at an early age thanks to her father who is also a Meteorologist.  She was the only 5 year old in her class that could accurately draw on a weather map with the appropriate symbols.

She received her degree in Meteorology at Valparaiso University where she got to do two 11-day storm chases and saw some of the most amazing and jaw-dropping storms.

Cyndi has previously worked at KTEN-TV in Denison, TX as Morning and Midday Meteorologist, so she is already used to waking up in the morning and getting you ready for your day!

In her spare time she loves to take pictures of storms she is chasing or that are chasing her, playing and watching hockey, and also loves to do ballroom dancing.

Little Known Facts about Cyndi:

  • I have an all black cat named Meso. He is named after the inner rotation of a supercell... Mesocyclone.
  • I love to cook and bake. Every weekend I try out a new dinner or dessert recipe.
  • I always head outside to watch storms roll in. My favorite cloud formation is a shelf cloud.
