Barron County (WQOW) - A man from Rice Lake dies following a crash in Barron County.
Around 8:10 p.m. Monday night, the Barron County Dispatch Center received a call of a crash on Highway 63 near Echo Lake.
Deputies of the Barron County Sheriff's Department responded, along with the Turtle Lake Police Department, Almena Fire Department, Turtle Lake 1st Responders and Cumberland Ambulance.
Upon arrival, preliminary investigation revealed that William Sugden, 70, of Rice Lake was traveling north on Highway 63 near Echo Lake, when the vehicle crossed the southbound lane and came to a rest in the westbound ditch.
Sugden was unresponsive and transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead from what appears to be natural causes.
