Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Is the third time the charm? Eau Claire County puts another group together to figure out a jail site.
The committee met for the first time Wednesday night. This is the third committee since the county announced plans for a new jail.
Late last month we told you the county was taking land offers. The new committee must decide if a justice center should go on one of those sites and if so, what they will build.
Members of the public at the meeting expressed concern over deadlines. They said in the past, it felt decisions were rushed because of tight deadlines.
The committee also discussed having an Eau Claire City Council member present at one of the committee's meetings. Members said this would alleviate coming up with a plan and having it turned down by the city council, like what happened this summer.
