Eau Claire (WQOW) - A road map could be the key to future construction in one part of Eau Claire.
On Monday night the plan commission will begin discussing the creation of a new improvement district in Eau Claire. The proposed district would be located off Clairemont Avenue in the area of Marshfield Clinic, Sacred Heart Hospital, UW-Eau Claire and CVTC. Creation of the district would be a way to bring businesses together.
"We've done a comprehensive study of the traffic up there, the street patterns and street locations. We find that there are some impediments to growth up there, the way the streets just happen to be built," says Dave Duax, a member of the Eau Claire City Plan Commission.
The improvement district could also help solve issues like signage and recreational trails. Duax says how quickly the plan commission moves on the item depends on the type of response they get from businesses in that area.
