MADISON (Press Release) Governor Jim Doyle announced today the appointment of David Dokkestul as the Sawyer County Coroner. Dokkestul will fill the vacancy created by the death of Dr. John Ryan. He will begin serving immediately.
"David Dokkestul is an experienced medical professional," Governor Doyle said. "I am confident he will provide excellent service to the people of Sawyer County."
David Dokkestul currently serves as a chief deputy coroner in Sawyer County. He has experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter, Certified Nursing Assistant and first responder. He also works as an instructor at Wisconsin Indianhead and Chippewa Valley Technical Colleges. David lives in Hayward.
“I’m looking forward to serving Sawyer County in this capacity,” David Dokkestul said. “I am grateful to those I’ve worked with during the difficult transitional period since Dr. Ryan’s death.”
