Eau Claire (WQOW)- The Eau Claire Fire Department is needed all the way in Polk County after a suspicious container was found.
It happened around one o'clock this morning. A 30-gallon container was discovered along 87th street in Balsam Lake.
The container had about six gallons of an unknown liquid inside and was leaking. The area was sealed off and a chemical assessment team from the Eau Claire Fire Department was called.
Investigators determined the liquid was anhydrous ammonia which is often used to make meth. They believe someone may have been storing it for that reason, but decided to dump it when the container started leaking. No one was hurt, and no arrests have been made.
