Seasonal flu shot clinics offered in Chippewa County next month

Chippewa County (WQOW) - If you haven't received your seasonal flu shot yet this year, health officials say it's not too late.

The Chippewa County Department of Public Health recommends everyone get the shot. They say the seasonal flu shot protects you from three of the yearly flu viruses that will soon start popping up again.

The health department is offering three public clinics for seasonal flu shots on a walk-in basis in December. There is a charge for the seasonal flu shot. Clinics will be held on the following dates:

  • December 7 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Chippewa County Courthouse Room 003 (711 North Bridge Street in Chippewa Falls)
  • December 10 from 1-2:00 p.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church (146 West Main Street in New Auburn)
  • December 15 from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Central Lutheran Church (28 East Columbia Street in Chippewa Falls)

Health officials say a seasonal flu shot will not protect you from the H1N1 virus, and the H1N1 shot will not protect you from the seasonal flu.
