Buffalo County (WQOW) - A fire damages a well-known restaurant and bar in Buffalo County.
Firefighters say just after 5:00 p.m. Thursday night, a cook at the Golden Frog Saloon in Fountain City called to report a possible fire in the building.
The fire caused major damage. The owners say they're thankful no one was hurt and the integrity of the structure, which is 131-years-old, was not destroyed. The original Golden Frog was built in 1878. In recent years, it's been renovated. The owners say they hope to reopen, and begin serving food in early January, possibly sooner for drinks.
