
La Crosse (WXOW) - The owner of a rural DeSoto tavern and nine young women face charges for holding striptease shows in a back room of the tavern.
Vernon County sheriff Gene Cary reports the arrests came following an investigation over the past few weeks prompted by complaints from the public.
Those arrested are the tavern owner, Thomas Ghelf, 43, of De Soto; and the following women: Marcia Brent, 23 of La Crosse; Kelly Fields, 26, of Hammond, Ind.; Kayla Raines, 25, of Ontario; Megan Brumfield, 27, of La Crosse; Katherine Franks, 23, of La Crosse; Cassandra Viera, 18, of Holmen; Alissa Langaard, 22, of Westby; 22-year-old Lindsay Bryant of La Crosse; and Jacey Lamb-Halko, 22, of La Crosse.
All are free on bond while the investigation continues. They could face fines of up to $500.
