MILWAUKEE (AP) - U.S. Senate hopeful Ron Johnson has raised about $560,000 in the second quarter of 2010 in his bid to unseat Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold.
Johnson announced his candidacy halfway through the reporting period that runs from April 1 to June 30.
The Republican's campaign said Wednesday he has $940,000 cash on hand. Feingold has almost five times that much cash on hand, or $4.3 million.
Johnson's campaign didn't immediately say how much of Johnson's fundraising came from his own personal contributions. It did say about 2,100 contributors donated. Feingold reported donations from more than 18,000 contributors.
Johnson takes on Watertown business Dave Westlake in a Republican primary in September. Westlake hasn't yet released his fundraising numbers.
