Eau Claire (WQOW) - Charges are filed against the man accused of hitting a woman with his truck and leaving the scene.

Dean Anderson, who was arrested on Monday in Eau Claire, is charged with felony hit and run.

Investigators say Anderson was driving on Galloway Street Monday when he hit a woman walking along the shoulder of the road.  Anderson left the scene, but was later found by police.  When asked about it, investigators say he told them he thought he hit a mailbox and didn't stop because his license was suspended.  Anderson will be in court in August.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman who was hit needed stitches above her eye and had a swollen ankle.
