Local foods featured in free cooking demonstration

Eau Claire (Press Release) - The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire will offer a cooking demonstration featuring locally grown foods common to gardens in the Chippewa Valley.

"Summer's Bounty: Cool Food for Hot Summer Days" is scheduled for Monday, August 30, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Eau Claire Room on the library's lower level. The program is free and open to the public.

The demonstration will focus largely on vegetarian-based recipes that may easily be modified to include meats or poultry. Foods to be featured include cold soups, salads, and local fruits and vegetables.

The program is presented by Eric D. Johnson, recent graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Minneapolis.
