Eau Claire (WQOW) - A UW-Eau Claire student helps organize a successful book drive and earns the trip of a lifetime.
Audrey Mohr helped put together the drive at the university earlier this year. Twelve tons of books were collected--more than at any other university nationwide so Audrey earned a three-week summer trip to Africa. That's one of the places the books she collected on campus were donated.
"I saw a lot of students that were in elementary schools and how much they love their books, love languages, learning about different cultures and sharing that with us," Audrey says. "That's not something I think American elementary students ever really feel--that need and desire to learn and to care for their books because they're so precious."
Audrey's trip to Africa was made possible by an online book seller called Better World Books.
