Chippewa Valley Museum hosting Fiber Arts Festival

Eau Claire (Press Release) -- The Chippewa Valley Museum is hosting its second annual Fiber Arts Festival on Saturday, February 5 at the museum in Carson Park. Bring the family, and join us for a day long celebration of the fiber arts!

Watch over 20 local fiber artists demonstrate their skills in many mediums, including weaving, rug hooking and braiding, spinning, knitting, embroidery, felting, quilting, mixed media, and more. Learn about each artist's special skills and techniques and enjoy their beautiful creations on display.

Select artists will teach hands-on-lessons to all interested individuals and provide the equipment and supplies needed for making a small finished sample. Visitors are also welcome to bring along their own projects, either in progress or completed, to participate in an idea exchange with others. Select artists will offer visitors the opportunity to order custom work, or have a sampling of their finished textiles available for purchase in the museum store.

Charge: Free with the price of admission: $5 for adults; $2 for ages 4-17; 3 and under free. Hours: 11am - 4pm. Contact Karen Jacobson at 834-7871 or for details. This event is held at the Chippewa Valley Museum located in scenic Carson Park.
