Eau Claire (WQOW) - Jan Porath has been named Executive Director of United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley.

According to a press release issued Tuesday evening, Porath will organize staff and focus on advancing United Way's Community Impact work within Chippewa and Eau Claire County by collaborating with key volunteers and community partners of both counties.

Eau Claire and Chippewa County United Ways are in the process of merging into the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley.

Porath has been with the Eau Claire United way since 2007 and was named Interim Executive Director when Kris Becker retired in 2010.

Porath is a University of Wisconsin Eau Claire alumnus.
