Thorp (WQOW) - An area mayor is back in court as a recall petition is filed against him. The petition was filed Monday morning in Thorp where Craig Jiskra is the mayor.
Jiskra faces charges in Clark and Dunn Counties stemming from domestic disputes with his estranged wife. In one case, he was accused of using a GPS device to track her.
Monday in Clark County, he pleaded not guilty to stalking and disorderly conduct. No trial date has been set.
Earlier this year, he took a leave of absence from his duties as mayor. Residents needed about 140 valid signatures to force a recall election. They turned in 181. Major Jiskra has 10 days to challenge that petition. It could be up to a month before the petition is certified. If it is approved, the city council could then call for an election in six weeks.
