MILWAUKEE (AP) - Brandon Knight scored 24 points and sparked Milwaukee's rousing rally from an 18-point deficit to lead the Bucks to a 105-98 win last night over the Orlando Magic. Knight confounded Orlando with a quick first step and threw down a dunk for a 74-71 lead with 10:57 left. The lead swelled to 95-81 with 2:49 left before Orlando mounted its own late charge to get within three.
ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) - No. 23 DePaul beat 5th-seeded Marquette 100-90 yesterday to advance to the title game of the women's Big East Conference tournament. Top-seeded DePaul will face No. 2 seed St. Johns in the championship game today. Both teams shot 50 percent but Marquette had 17 turnovers and was 19 of 24 from the line.
PHOENIX (AP) - Chris Sale breezed into the fifth inning with two-hit ball shortly after being chosen the White Sox's opening-day starter as Chicago beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-3 yesterday. Sale struck out three in 4 1-3 innings. He allowed only a two-out single to Khris Davis in the first and a two-out single to Jean Segura in the third.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Packers have officially announced the re-signing of Sam Shields. The undrafted rookie in 2010 out of Miami started 14 games last season with 61 tackles, four interceptions and 16 passes defended. Shields agreed to a four-year deal worth $39 million with a $12.5 million signing bonus.
