GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Green Bay Packers beat the Kansas Chiefs 34-14 in a preseason finale last night. Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien each threw for two touchdowns in their competition to back up starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Chiefs receiver A.J. Jenkins made an impressive, diving 45-yard catch before leaving with a concussion.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Inside linebacker Derek Landisch is expected to start tomorrow night when No. 14 Wisconsin faces No. 13 LSU in the season opener in Houston. Landisch strained his right hamstring on August 13th and missed about 10 days of practice. The senior is a key returnee on a defense replacing its front seven.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Mitch Leidner ran for two scores and threw a touchdown pass to Donovahn Jones to lead Minnesota to a season-opening 42-20 victory over Eastern Illinois last night. Leidner finished 9 for 17 with 144 yards. Jalen Whitlow went 14 for 23 passing for 110 yards and rushed 19 times for 77 yards.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Jordan Schafer tied a career high with four RBIs last night as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Kansas City Royals 11-5. Bruce Chen gave up five hits and walked two in the 10th. Anthony Swarzak picked up the victory.
