Legendary Wisconsin men's basketball coach Bo Ryan was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday Night.  The ceremony took place in Kansas City, Missouri, as Coach Ryan is part of the 2017 class.  Ryan coached for 32 years at UW-Platteville, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Madison.  He coached the Badgers from 2001 until he retired at the end of 2015. Arkansas has fired athletic director Jeff Long after nearly 10 years at the school. Badgers WR Cephus Out For Season

Star receiver Quintez Cephus will miss the rest of the season for No. 6 Wisconsin because of an injured right leg. Coach Paul Chryst said after practice Thursday that Cephus had surgery this week. He leads the Badgers in receiving yards and touchdown catches. The sophomore was hurt during the 45-17 win last week at Indiana. Cephus finishes the year with 30 catches for 501 yards and six scores. Wisconsin Men's Hockey announced the addition of goalie Kyle Hayton on Friday.  Hayton comes to the Badgers a graduate transfer from St. Lawrence where he was the ECAC Goaltender of the Year and a second-team All-American as a junior in 2016-17.  That year Hayton also established program records for career wins, appearances, saves, shutouts and goals against average. Wisconsin basketball has released its full 2017-18 schedule, which includes an early December start to Big Ten play with a visit from Ohio State.    The game against the Buckeyes on Dec. 2 follows a tough trip to Virginia to face the Cavaliers in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge on Nov. 27.    The season opens Nov. 10 against South Carolina State.

Badgers lead Big Ten in men's basketball attendance

The Big Ten bested all conferences in men's basketball attendance for the 41st consecutive season, totaling 3,119,823 for home and league tournament games. That's the most in Big Ten history. The conference averaged 12,235 a game across its 14 schools. Eleven of those ranked among the top 40 in average attendance, with Wisconsin leading the way at 17,286 a game.

Badgers prepare for longer camp

The Badgers football team will unofficially kick off training camp on Friday night. The team will host Family Fun Day from 6-8 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium. That will be a light-hearted way to start an especially long preseason. The NCAA recently banned two-a-day practices in the football ranks, due to safety concerns. In order to make up for that lost time, the Badgers will be extending the length of training camp by about a week.

Rose Lavelle scored in the second half, lifting the U.S. women to a 1-0 victory over Sweden in a friendly on Thursday night.    A perfectly timed run from the midfield by Crystal Dunn led to a through-ball for Lavelle inside the 18-yard box.
