Packers' Kramer makes visit to Madison

Packers Hall of Famer Jerry Kramer made a special appearance in Madison. The Packers and Exact Sciences have teamed up to raise colon cancer awareness throughout the football season. Kramer came to speak to a Exact Sciences employees about how the disease played a pivotal role in his personal and professional life when Packers coach Vince Lombardi was diagnosed with colon cancer. 


Stricker says US team to stand during national anthem

On that rare occasion the national anthem is played in golf, U.S. captain Steve Stricker says his team will stand together at the Presidents Cup.    Stricker says the players talked about what to do on a bus ride into New York on Tuesday for some television appearances. He says they all agreed to handle it the way they always have by standing at attention with their hands over their hearts.   


Spieth leading going into weekend at Birkdale

Jordan Spieth finished off a windy and wet second round of the British Open with a 1-under 69 to take the lead.    


Kuchar posts career-best in major to share lead

Matt Kuchar matched the best front-nine score ever at Royal Birkdale. And even following that with nothing but pars on the back nine, the American still shot his best score in a major.    Kuchar saved par from behind the 18th green and shot 5-under 65 to share the lead with Jordan Spieth and U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka in the opening round of the British Open. 


Paul Broadhurst is early leader at Champions stop in Madison

Paul Broadhurst is the leader after the first round of the PGA Champions Tour stop in Wisconsin.    Broadhurst shot a 9-under 63 in the American Family Insurance Championship. He has a two-shot lead over Brian Henninger. Elderly golf fan who died at US Open lost wife days earlier

The elderly golf fan who died while attending the U.S. Open in Wisconsin had lost his wife of 68 years earlier in the week.    Ninety-four-year-old Marshall "Chick" Jacobs died Friday in the arms of his son, Bill, after becoming unresponsive at the 6th green. Just three days earlier, Lucille Jacobs, died after experiencing complications from a broken hip.   


Steve Stricker with plenty of family support at US Open

For Steve Stricker, family is never far on the course. The Edgerton native's wife serves as his caddy. Also this week, his daughter has been able to follow him from shot to shot. She has certainly not been alone.


Fowler leads US Open

Erin Hills was kind to Rickie Fowler and rough on several others during the first round of the U.S. Open.    Fowler is atop the leaderboard following a 7-under 65 that included seven birdies and no bogeys. He birdied three straight holes while making the turn and tied the record for the lowest score in relation to par for a first round of a U.S. Open. Jimmy Walker wins PGA Championship

Jimmy Walker shot a bogey-free, 3-under-par 67 Sunday to win the PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club, becoming the fourth first-time major champion this year.    Walker, who was in the lead after every round, finished at 14-under 266, one shot ahead of defending champion Jason Day who closed with a 67 that included an eagle 3 on No 18.    Daniel Summerhays was third at 10 under after a 66 while there was a three-way tie for fourth at 9 under.    There... Steve Stricker began the second round with 14 consecutive pars to stay on the leaderboard. The 15th hole changed everything.    He lost one ball. He nearly lost another. He had to hack out of the hay back into the fairway, and then hit his next shot back into the hay. Steve Stricker was nervous when he teed off at Royal Troon, and it showed. He had to scramble for par on the first hole and took bogey on the next hole. But the 49-year-old American settled down and shot 67.


Toledo, Sauers top PGA Tour Champions in Wisconsin

Estaban Toledo and Gene Sauers each shot 9-under 63 on Friday to share the first-round lead in the PGA Tour Champions' inaugural American Family Insurance Championship.    Toledo made five straight birdies on his first nine at University Ridge, added three more on Nos. 1, 2 and 4 and capped his bogey-free round with another on the par-5 ninth.
