
Chippewa County (Press Release) - On Thursday November 26, 2009 at about 1:04am Lake Hallie Police Officer Mike Ternberg received a complaint regarding a man who had removed a hunting knife from a sheath and made a comment that was upsetting to employees. The incident occurred at the Lake Hallie Wal-Mart on Commercial Blvd. When Officer Ternberg responded he located the subject still in the store and subsequently arrested him for Disorderly Conduct.
Hunter Julson age 19 of rural Chippewa Falls was transported to the Chippewa County Jail and held on State Disorderly Conduct charges and a Probation Detention Order after it was alleged that he had removed an 8 ½ inch knife from his waist band sheath and made the comment "I need some money". This was reported to have been done by Mr. Julson as he walked past two employees who were "closing out a cash register." Witnesses indicated that the subject took out the knife and held it next to his leg while making the comment prior to putting the knife back into the sheath.
Mr. Julson had entered the store with friends and was co-operative when taking into custody. He indicated that he was sorry and he did not understand the gravity of his actions, He told Officer Ternberg that "It was a stupid comment".
