WKOW honored with Emmy Award for consumer reporting

Posted:

WKOW (CHICAGO) -- WKOW's Dan Cassuto received an Emmy Award for consumer reporting at the 51st Annual Emmy Awards in Chicago, IL on Saturday, November 7, 2009.

The ceremony is presented by the Chicago Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Cassuto was honored with an Emmy for his popular consumer product testing series, DOES IT WORK?  The award is for Outstanding Coverage of Consumer/Business Topics.  Three other entrants were also nominated in this category; they all represented Chicago television stations.  WKOW was the only winner.

DOES IT WORK? tests As-Seen-On-TV products to help viewers avoid getting ripped off by dud products.  WKOW tests products with help from university researchers, scientists, and other experts in relevant fields.  It's informative and useful as well as entertaining.
