Prison time, restitution in Polk County hit-and-run

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - A man will spend years behind bars and pay thousands of dollars in restitution for hit and run in western Wisconsin.

Scott Black of Minnesota was sentenced to 9 years in prison. He must also pay about $178,000 in restitution.

The incident happened in Polk County last July. Deputies say a 40-year-old man was standing in front of his truck checking the oil, when a semi hit the back of his vehicle pushing it into a car. The man was pinned between the two.

Witnesses say the driver, Black, got out and ran. He was later arrested. Officers say the semi was stolen from a Minnesota company. The man who was struck suffered severe leg injuries.
