Andrea Albers

Andrea Albers is currently an anchor and producer of the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts. Andrea joined the News 18 team in January 2009 as member of the production staff. She quickly became a reporter and in the winter of 2010 also began anchoring the Saturday newscasts. She began her role as co-anchor of the 6 & 10 p.m. newscasts in the spring of 2011. The following year Andrea began anchoring Live at Five.

Andrea is an Emmy nominated journalist. She received recognition for a piece that focused on the need for childhood mental health services. If she is not at the anchor desk you can often find Andrea out in the community profiling Jefferson Award winners. During her time at WQOW she's won awards from the WBA for her work in writing, shooting and producing a series called Kids in Need. She was also part of award winning team coverage during the capitol protests in Madison in early 2011. 

Andrea grew up in Iola, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
