Woman who disappeared in Cannon River is found

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The body found in Cannon River has been identified as a 20-year-old woman who disappeared after the car in which she was riding plunged into the river in April.

According to the Rice County sheriff's office, Brittney Landsverk's identity was confirmed by dental records.

Landsverk was riding in a car with three others when it went into the swollen river about 5 a.m. on April 2. The others survived. One person pulled the driver from the vehicle, and an effort was made to save Landsverk, too, but she was swept into the current.

The Star Tribune reports a final medical examiner's report should be completed within two months.
