Actor Leslie Nielsen dead at 84


FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WKOW) - Actor Leslie Nielsen died Sunday from complications with pneumonia. He was 84.

According to his agent, John S. Kelly, Nielsen was being treated for the disease at a hospital near his home in Ft. Lauderdale.

The Canadian-born star went to Hollywood in the mid-1950s and made a name for himself with his role as a hapless doctor in "Airplane!" and as the accident-prone detective Frank Drebin in "The Naked Gun" comedies.
