Update: Suspect in Barron County shooting in custody

Barron (WQOW) - The suspect in a shooting in Barron County Thursday afternoon is now in custody.

According to the Barron County Sheriff, a man had reported that Brad Bearheart had taken his vehicle from him at gunpoint and fired a shot at him while he was running away.  Authorities say the man who called was not hurt.

Later Thursday, a 46 year old woman called 9-1-1 saying she'd been shot by Bearheart.  The Barron County Sheriff says she is in stable condition.

Bearheart was eventually found in a car in a ditch west of Cumberland.  The suspect was taken into custody, and authorities say once Bearheart is medically cleared, the Turtle Lake man will be held at the Barron County Jail awaiting formal charges of 1st degree intentional homicide.

Barron (WQOW) - Few details are being released about a shooting in the Turtle Lake area.

WQOW News 18 has been able to confirm there was a shooting just south of the village limits and has been told a victim was taken to the hospital in Barron.

WQOW News 18 is waiting to learn more from law enforcement about what happened and whether a suspect is in custody.
