ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - T.J. Oshie (OH'-shee) and Alexander Steen scored shootout goals as the St. Louis Blues took over the top spot in the NHL standings with a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild last night. Oshie beat Ilya Bryzgalov (IHL'-yuh brihs-GAH'-lahf) through the five-hole in the first round. Steen sealed the win in the following round after the Blues' Brian Elliott turned away Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Kyle Lowry had 20 points to lift the Toronto Raptors to a 111-104 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves last night. DeMar DeRozan added 25 points and seven rebounds. The Raptors have won nine of their last 11 games to climb to third place in the Eastern Conference standings. Toronto shot 58.3 percent on 3-pointers.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Austin Hollins had 14 points for Minnesota in an 81-63 victory over Penn State yesterday to set up a rematch between these teams in the first round of the Big Ten tournament. DeAndre Mathieu led the Golden Gophers with 16 points and six assists. Minnesota and Penn State will play on Thursday in Indianapolis.
FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Four Minnesota Twins pitchers combined to two-hit the Philadelphia Phillies in a 1-1 tie yesterday. Joe Mauer drove in the game's first run with a first-inning single. Mauer is batting .250 through five spring games after making the full-time switch to first base.
