Mike Joyce joined the News 18 team in August 2010 as a part-time sports photographer.  In January 2011, he was promoted to full-time news/sports reporter for the station, as well as fill-in news and sports anchor.

Mike was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 2009 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He also minored in Business Law. His college experience includes reporting and producing for USC's Annenberg TV News. While at USC, Mike interned for both KTLA in Los Angeles and KARE in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

In his time at WQOW, Mike has won a WBA award for contributing to the Sports OT Online Wrap.  His favorite journalism moments include following the Packers 2011 Super Bowl run and covering the 2011 NCAA National Hockey Championships in St. Paul.

Mike is a diehard sports fan. He cheers on his favorite Minnesota sports teams any chance he can get (even though he has become an Aaron Rodgers fan while working in Wisconsin). Mike enjoys spending time on the golf course during the summer and lacing up the skates in the winter. He loves spending his free time relaxing on the lake in Webster, Wisconsin.
