Eau Claire (WQOW) - The UW-Eau Claire campus is growing by 168 acres. That's how much land has just been donated to the university by a UW-Eau Claire alumnus and his family.
The land is adjacent to the Chippewa County Forest, where the Flambeau and Chippewa Rivers meet.
Jim and Joan Leary say they hope the land will lead to environmental solutions, as students conduct water quality research, observe wildlife and study the environment.
The land is worth more than $250,000. The Leary's met on the UWEC campus, where Jim graduated in 1956.
