ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) -- As influenza season approaches, now is the time to get your flu shot, and they're now available at the Rock County Health Department.
Federal health officials recommend the annual influenza vaccine for all people, six months and older. Rock County health officials say getting a flu shot is the best way to protect yourself against the influenza. After you get the shot it takes about two weeks for your body to develop antibodies to protect yourself against the influenza virus infections, so getting a vaccination early is important.
The cost is $30.00. Medicare Part B and Wisconsin BadgerCare are accepted, participants should bring their card.
Rock County residents can get the flu shot by appointment at the Rock County Health Department Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Appointments can be made by calling 608-757-5440 or 608-364-2010.
