Quincy is pleased to introduce our new paid internship program that will formally get underway in January of 2012.
We will be promoting the initiative as the "Quinternship" program. It is uniquely named because of the unique nature of the program.
Representatives from a number of Quincy properties had a voice and a role in the design of the program. Staff assessed station needs and what it would take to attract successful interns.
Many on our current staff, company-wide, began their careers as interns at our properties.
In order to compete for the next generation of great talent, the team determined that Quincy would benefit from a formal and paid program. To become an employer of choice requires resources. The Quinternship program has been budgeted to fund the equivalent of one FTE at each property. That means several "Quinterns" may be working in each property at any given time. These paid internships are available in the departments of news, production, promotion, sales, digital media and engineering/IT.
Students will benefit by gaining hands-on practical experience and Quincy will benefit by having access to the region's best emerging talent. Our goal is to prepare these outstanding student interns for influential jobs in broadcasting, print and interactive. We are excited to launch the Quinternship program in our company, and provide these outstanding opportunities in your markets.
