UPDATE: Four charged after Barron County drug bust

Barron County (WQOW) - Four people are charged after a big drug bust in Barron County.

Eight pounds of marijuana were seized during a search of a rural Barron home earlier this week. Deputies also found a marijuana plant growing in what appeared to be a child's bedroom.

Rodrigo Hernandez-Amador is charged with possessing pot and intent to sell.

Meanwhile, three other men face the same charge after their vehicle was stopped shortly after leaving Amador's house. Investigators found a pound of marijuana in their truck.

The Barron County Sheriff's department concluded a nine month long drug investigation with three arrests and a seizure of more than 9 pounds of marijuana.

A search warrant was executed at 1458 14 ½ Street, the Adrian Hernandez – Amador (a/k/a Rodrigo Hernandez-Amador) residence on October 4th, 2011. While executing the search warrant, officers seized 8 pounds of marijuana and $1640 cash at the residence.  A police canine and his handler, Officer Steve Roux of the Rice Lake Police Department, located the marijuana which was concealed in a location outside the residence.

Hernandez-Amador is incarcerated and has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Additional charges of distribution of marijuana are also pending. Hernandez – Amador is in the U.S. Illegally and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officials have lodged a detainer on him to proceed with the process of deportation, pending the outcome of the criminal case.

The other two other individuals arrested as part of this investigation have been identified as, Derek Amoroso (age 22) and Jared Amoroso (age 20). When they were arrested they were in possession of more than 1 pound of marijuana. Both have been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Derek Amoroso was on bail on another Barron County case in which he is charged with delivery of marijuana. An additional charge of felony bail jumping on Derek Amoroso will be referred to the Barron county District Attorney's Office.

The total street value of the marijuana seized in this case is at least $25,000.
