Jon joined the WKOW sports department in October 2011. He comes from WKOW's sister station, WVVA in Bluefield, West Virginia, where he worked for 14 months. While in Bluefield, Jon covered West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Marshall athletics, but now is happy to be back in Big Ten country.
Jon was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and yes, he is a Buckeye fan. But, don't hold that against him because he is not an OSU alumnus. He graduated from Ohio University, where he studied at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.
During his time at OU, Jon worked at the student-run television station WOUB. His most memorable media experience at WOUB was covering the Ohio men's basketball team's weekend run through the Mid-American Conference tournament in Cleveland, Ohio in 2010. OU eventually went on to upset Georgetown in the NCAA Tournament.
Jon's earliest Wisconsin memory happened about 10 years ago, when he met Barry Alvarez on the beach in Naples, Florida. Jon is now thrilled to be able to cover all the UW teams that the coach oversees.
Jon encourages you to contact him with any story ideas you may have. Or if you'd like to talk trash about the Buckeyes, that is ok too!
