WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- More recycling could add millions of jobs.
The Tellus Institute, a nonprofit research group, finds if the U.S. recycling rate increased from 33% to 75% by 2030, this would mean an additional 1.5 million jobs.
The report points out that recycling involves more work than trash disposal -- which means more jobs.
Workers would be needed for collecting, processing, and composting trash and for making new products with recycled materials.
