MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker has out-raised
those working to recall him.
Reports filed on Thursday show the governor has raised
$5.1 million since July. The Democratic Party and a coalition have raised about
$1.4 million.
Governor Walker reported spending $4 million since
July.
The Wisconsin state law allows Walker to raise unlimited
amounts while petitions to recall him are being collected. Normally, candidates
have a $10,000 cap in a single year from the same donor.
The Democratic Party reports spending about $540,000 on
the recall effort.
The United Wisconsin Coalition announced on Thursday they
collected 507,000 signatures to date. They need to collect 540,000 by January 17
to trigger a recall election. They hope to collect more than 720,000 in that
time.
