Emily Valerio is a reporter and weekend anchor/producer at News 18. She's been with the station since October of 2011 where she started out as a part-time reporter while she finished her studies at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN. She began full-time after her graduation in December.  In January of 2012 she started anchoring and producing the 6 & 10 Saturday newscasts.

During her college career, Emily spent most of her time working with Charter Communications and the school's student-run broadcast of Minnesota State - Mankato Hockey as a sideline reporter. She also interned with Mankato's newspaper, The Free Press, to produce video features for their website.

Emily is a Colorado native and will always have a love for the mountains where she grew up camping and hiking. Thanks to her husband Marcus, she has also discovered a passion for fishing on the lakes of the Upper Midwest. Emily and Marcus met in college and married in February of 2012. Marcus works at Fox Sports North in Minneapolis.

The thing Emily is most passionate about is storytelling. She grew up listening to her grandparents tell captivating stories about growing up during the Depression and traveling all over the world. It is here where she began to dream of a job where she had the opportunity to share stories like these.
