Eau Claire (WQOW) - A
Democratic candidate for governor will make a stop in the Chippewa Valley.
Kathleen
Falk, a former Dane County executive, will be touring the state next week. She
announced her candidacy last month in a possible recall against Governor Scott Walker.
Falk will stop in five cities, including Eau Claire.
She'll
be at the Chippewa Valley Technical College's business and education center at
eight a.m. on Wednesday February eighth.
Meanwhile,
state senator Kathleen Vinehout has changed a registration statement to
indicate she's running for governor instead of a state senate seat.
The
change in the registration statement allows her to raise money towards a recall
campaign against governor walker.
Wednesday, Vinehout's colleague in the senate, Tim Cullen, said he would
not run. Vinehout would join Falk as the other democrat in the race so far.
Governor
walker was in the Chippewa Valley Friday and we asked him his thoughts on his
possible opponents in a recall election.
"The real campaign is what we can do to help people in Wisconsin
create more jobs, create a better environment for jobs to put people to work
and for me I'm going to stay focused on that and not individuals who may or may
not be running for governor," said Governor Walker.
The
Government Accountability Board has scanned in all recall petitions for Governor
Walker. They are currently in the process of verifying the signatures on the
petitions. The board has until march 19th to review the signatures.
