Chippewa Falls (WQOW)- Local restaurants geared up for Super Bowl crowds Sunday, even though Wisconsin's favorite football team wasn't in the game.
Milwaukee Burger in Eau Claire threw a Packers party before the Super Bowl to celebrate the Packers 15-1 season. They expected any even bigger crowd this year to watch the big game than last year because they say so many people chose to avoid restaurants in favor of celebrating at home with their own Packer Super Bowl parties. Loopy's in Chippewa Falls got ready Sunday afternoon for the Super Bowl crowds. But without the Packers in the big game, they expected numbers to be down.
"It's all up in the air right now. We made enough food to feed the whole bar but you never know with the Packers not playing," says Loopy's Bar Manager Kristi Wiltzius. "We got extra staff on today because we know it's going to be busy and I'm just waiting for everybody to get here."
Both restaurants offered food and drink specials to celebrate the Super Bowl.
