Polk County (WQOW) - A Polk County man is rushed to the hospital following a garage explosion. His wife was killed in the blast.
It happened just west of Turtle Lake near the Town of Range, Saturday afternoon. According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Stanley Johnson and his wife Nancy were in the garage filling a propane tank when it caught fire and exploded.
Stanley was able to escape the burning building and was airlifted to a burn unit in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area. The sheriff believes his injuries are not life-threatening.
Nancy, 77, who was trapped inside the garage, died.

The Polk County Sheriff says a propane tank exploded Saturday afternoon, killing a woman and injuring her husband. Their names have not been released.
It happened just west of Turtle Lake near the town of Range. The sheriff says the two were filling a propane tank, when it caught fire and exploded. The woman was killed in the explosion, and her husband was airlifted to an area hospital. The extent of his injuries are not known.
More information is expected to be released Monday.
