Eau Claire (Press Release) - Voters in the Eau Claire area will notice some changes when they go to their voting site starting with the February 21 Primary.
First, their voting site may have changed. The 2010 Census and resulting redistricting, has shifted some city ward lines. There are 20 voting sites in the city and seven of them are new locations. To determine where they vote, people can log on to the State's Voter Public Access website (https://vpa.wi.gov/) . Voters can find their voting site by entering either their name and date of birth or their address. If voters do not have access to a computer, they can call the City Elections office at 715 839 – 4913.
Once inside their polling site, votes will notice more changes. Voting is now a 3-Step process. Voters must State It. Show It. Sign It.
- Voters must state their name and address when they come up to the poll books.
- Voters must show one of the eight types of acceptable Photo ID.
- Voters must sign one of the poll books.
These new state requirements will take additional time on Election Day. Voters are asked to have patience as these new processes are implemented.
